SCENES FROM GOETHE'S FAUST TV PREMIERE

In August 2019, Irina featured as a soloist in Robert Schumann’s rarely-performed grand work Scenes from Goethe's Faust at the Helsinki Festival, where the Radio Symphony Orchestra was conducted by Hannu Lintu.

The tale of Faust, who sold his soul to the Devil, is one of the most iconic in our cultural heritage and has been adapted countless times. Jussi Nikkilä’s modern stage realisation combined Schumann's music with performing arts and strong visual aspects.

The work was realised as a joint production of the Finnish Broadcasting Company Yle.
The TV premiere will be broadcasted by Yle Teema on 2nd of January 2020.
